Markus Joel Schouten was born in Langley, BC on July 27, 2003 and passed away with his family by his side on May 29, 2022 at Canuck Place Hospice in Vancouver, BC.
In February 2021 Markus was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, an aggressive type of bone cancer. In March 2022, after 20 rounds of chemotherapy, when it was clear that the cancer was not going to go away, we decided to focus on quality-of-life care and had a wonderful last few months with Markus.
We welcome your participation at his funeral and burial as you share in our sorrow.
The funeral service will be held for Markus at the Yarrow Canadian Reformed Church (42285 Yarrow Central Rd, Chilliwack, BC) on Friday, June 3rd at 10:00AM.
His burial will immediately follow at the Vedder View Gardens Cemetery (44675 Watson Rd, Chilliwack, BC) after which you are invited to a fellowship lunch back at the Yarrow Church where you can offer condolences.
